Meals Menu

Excel Academy provides each student with three nutritious meals and a snack every day, prepared here in our fully equipped, onsite kitchen. Meals and snacks are provided free of charge, through our participation in the National School Lunch Program and the USDA Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Program.

The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day.

The United States Department of Agriculture Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) provides students with a fresh fruit or vegetable snack at school during the school day to increase their consumption of healthy foods, exposure to a variety of fruits and vegetables and promote a healthier school environment.

 Meet Chef Coulon

Chef Coulon and his staff prepare three daily meals – breakfast, lunch, supper – for Excel Academy Scholars in our new fully outfitted on-site cooking kitchen. Fresh fruits and vegetables, a variety of healthy main courses options, and a salad bar every day at no cost to parents is just one way that we prepare our scholars to Excel.
Chef Coulon
“I am often asked what food means to me. The answer is difficult for me to put into words. As a chef, husband, father, community- & church-member, there are so many things in my life that involve food. A good meal – a relaxing dinner with family and friends – having fun in the kitchen with my kids – creating a memorable culinary experience for a bride’s wedding – sharing my culinary knowledge with others so they can enjoy a restaurant experience at home.”
